Who is YMPT?

The Youth Ministry Planning Team, is an associated ministry of the Congregational Life Ministry Team.  We are composed of 8 dedicated Christians representing 7 different ABCORI Churches, coming from all walks of life.  Our purpose is to plan youth events and act as a resource for all youth and their leaders in the American Baptist Community.  We currently plan a monthly worship service called The Gathering for the youth of ABCORI that incorporates our three Fs: Fun, Fellowship,& Food! Along with planning The Gathering we also plan special retreats, and resource events for our ABCORI youth and their youth leaders.

We recognize that youth are an important and integral part of our American Baptist Community. We seek to draw young people into responsible participation in life through work and mission. With committed leadership, guidance, and support, we strive to affirm the gifts of our youth, foster their maturing faith, and help to meet their spiritual and social needs. We believe that by extending this ministry while partnering with the youth, all members of the American Baptist Community, young and old, can grow together in the Christian faith and be a blessing to the whole world.
