MINISTERS COUNCIL
ANNUAL REPORT – PRESENTED FEBRUARY 2019

The annual meeting of the Ministers Council of Rhode Island was held at Canonicus Camp & Conference Center on February 28, 2018 with about a dozen members present.
President Wendy Kiefer-O’Brien welcomed all in attendance, after which John Houlker led us in a Lenten reflection and a time of sharing.
The business meeting was called to order at 12 noon and the annual reports of the Secretary and Treasurer were received.
The following officers were elected for a two-year term:
  • President – Malcolm MacKenzie
  • Vice President – Reppa Cottrell
  • Program Coordinator – John Houlker (Term 2)
The retreat scheduled for May at Block Island was cancelled due to lack of registrations.  A less costly option is being explored for the 2019 retreat.
The Executive Committee met in February, June, October and December. At the February meeting the Executive Committee endorsed the program on Maintaining Spiritual Health as proposed by Reppa Cottrell and Linda Bausserman.
In October President Malcolm MacKenzie resigned. Vice President Reppa Cottrell agreed to fill this unexpired term. This leaves the Vice President position open.
Our thanks are extended to Dan and Reppa Cottrell who hosted an Epiphany Gathering on January 6. An enjoyable time -with a fill of ice cream- was had by all.
Candidates for the following positions are to be elected at the 2019 annual meeting:
  • Vice President – for one year, eligible for a full term – Position open
  • Secretary – Joyce Duerr concludes her second term – Position open
  • Treasurer – Cal Lord has agreed to fill a second term
  • Retreat Chair – Byron Waterman has agreed to fill a second term
  • Regional Representative – may be filled by the President
I write this as my final report, having now completed two terms as your secretary.
With blessings and joy,

Joyce B. Duerr, Secretary
