Executive Minister
Tom was the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in North Platte, Nebraska from 2004 to 2013. Prior to that, he served as a University Chaplain and adjunct faculty for Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Earlier, he pastored two churches, one in Arizona and one in Texas. As he began his career, he served as business administrator for a church in Texas and one in Oklahoma. Tom is in the process of earning a Doctor of Ministry from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, anticipating graduation in 2014. He has been active in the American Baptist Churches of Nebraska, and has completed a number of independent study and certificate courses.

Director of Eldercare Ministries
Rev. Marie Carpenter was a special education teacher in South Kingstown until 2001. Marie received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Rhode Island College and more recently her M.Div. from Andover Newton in 2005. In 2005 she was also ordained at First Baptist Church in East Greenwich as their Associate Pastor for Elder Care and Women. Guest Services Manager
Guest Services Manager, Linda Martin has been with ABCORI for 16 yrs. having first worked as Summer Camp Registrar from 1994-1998. Linda is married to Lucien Martin who works in Maintenance at Canonicus. She has 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Linda's joy in her work comes from helping people to experience the beauty, peace and tranquility of Canonicus and to encounter the God of Creation in this place.

Summer Camp Director
Melanie Towle started at Canonicus as a camper. Then worked seasonally on Summer camp staff for several years. After graduating from Gordon College with her BA in Youth Ministry, she started working year-round at Canonicus. Melanie is married with two children, and has recently been granted her pre-Ordination license by her church in Attleboro, MA.

Facilities Manager
Matt has been a part of the maintenance team at Canonicus in various professional and volunteer roles since early 2000. Matt is excited to be in his role as Facilities Manager and is looking forward to keeping Canonicus the beautiful place we have all come to love.

Maintainance
Lucien works part time in maintenance at Canonicus. He is married to Linda the guest services manager for conferencing. Lucien enjoys working with his hands especially doing things mechanical. Lucien is a member of Phenix Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. He is a goldsmith by trade and also enjoys creating that special piece to delight for years to come.
